Volunteer with the 2019 Skyway 10K

Skyway 10K

March 3rd, 2019
We can't do it without you!

On Sunday, March 3rd, 2019, runners and walkers of all levels will have the opportunity to cross over the span of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in the second annual Skyway 10K. The iconic bridge, covering three Florida counties, will serve as the breathtaking setting and 6.2-mile course for a once-in-a-lifetime race experience. With 100% of all proceeds benefiting the Armed Forces Families Foundation, the annual Skyway 10K will be a salute to military families and a premiere bridge run event for years to come.

The Armed Forces Families Foundation (AFFF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that utilizes 100% of all proceeds from the Skyway 10K for the benefit of our military and their families through infrastructure projects in our communities. To learn more about the AFFF, please click here: http://armedforcesfamilies.org/.

For the Skyway 10K / Sunshine Skyway Bridge Run and Pre- & Post-Race Activities (the “Event”)

NOTE: If I am under eighteen years of age, I understand that while I am bound by the provisions of this
Release and Waiver and must acknowledge and agree to its terms, I am not permitted to execute this Release
and Waiver or participate in this Event without approval of my parent or legal guardian, who must execute
this Release and Waiver on my behalf.

I know that running and/or volunteering for a road race is a potentially hazardous activity, which could cause
injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my
signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform this Event, and am in good health, and I am properly
trained. As a volunteer, I acknowledge that I have read and understand the potential requirements of the
shift(s) that I have selected and certify that I am medically able to participate in the indicated activities. I
agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this Event (as
either a participant or volunteer), including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for
any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the Event and agree to abide by them.  I assume
all risks associated with running and participating and/or volunteering in this Event, including but not limited
to: physical exertion, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high
temperatures, heat and/or humidity, traffic, and the conditions of the road, bridge, course, property,
facilities, or equipment used during the event, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I
understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers or strollers, roller skates, roller blades, or other wheeled
devices (except for those authorized and registered Wheelchair Division participants), animals, headphones,
and personal music players are not allowed in the Event and I will abide by all Event rules. Having read this
Release and Waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself
and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release Skyway Bridge Run, Inc., Armed Forces Families
Foundation, Inc., all Event sponsors, and each of their respective corporate parents, subsidiaries, affiliates,
officers, directors, representatives, volunteers, employees, and successors and assigns, and all municipal
agencies whose property and/or personnel are used, from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my
participation in this Event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part
of the persons named in this Release and Waiver.  I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my
photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this Event for any purpose whatsoever
(including advertising and promotion, but not for endorsing any products or services other than any products
or services of the Skyway Bridge Run, Inc. and its affiliates).  I understand that this Event does not provide for
refunds in the event of a cancellation, and by signing this Release and Waiver, I agree that I am not entitled to
a refund for any reason, including but not limited to if the Event is cancelled before or during the Event.

In connection with any injury or other medical conditions I may experience during the Event, I consent to be
removed and authorize whatever medical treatment is deemed necessary by medical and event personnel, in
their discretion. I further agree that I will be fully responsible for payment of any and all medical services,
ambulance transport service, and treatment rendered to me.

I have read this Release and Waiver, fully understand its terms, understand that I give up substantial rights by
signing it, and sign it freely and voluntarily without any inducement.
